The Cosplay Princess

I just can't helped myself but noticed the very enticing beauty of Ms. Alodia Gosiengfiao. I first saw in her latest abs-cbn show, Laughing out Loud (LOL) with Luis Manzano.

Personal Information

Alodia Gosiengfiao is a cosplayer, artist, model, blogger, performer, pianist, figure collector and BJD enthusiast residing in the Philippines. She graduated year 2009 from the Ateneo de Manila University with a BFA Information Design degree.
Born on March 9, 1988, Alodia Almira Arraiza Gosiengfiao, started cosplaying year 2003 at the age of 15 by joining various competitions in the Philippines specifically in Metro Manila. When she was 15, she wowed the crowds at the 2003 C3 Convention portraying as Magic Gunner Rikku from Final Fantasy along with her younger sister Ashley who cosplayed as Gunmage Yuna. The sisters' 3rd place & Crowd Favorite winnings led them to be featured on the cover of Issue 14 of Culture Crash, a manga magazine distributed locally and abroad.

While in college, she garnered the 1st Place award in Best Design during the Ateneo Siklab Fashion Design Week in September 2005. She also won 1st place in Digital Art Contest at the UGot Game X3M Xpo in 2007.

Alodia first modelled in her high school years when she was chosen as a member of the Avon Teen Advisory Council in the Philippines.

Alodia was Animax's first ever Levi's Kawaii Girl winner in the last episode of Mad Mad Fun. Since then she has continued to cosplay various anime & videogame characters. As a multi-awarded cosplayer, she is now being invited to grace conventions with her appearances or to judge competitions. She started judging at the age of 18.

When creating her costumes, she first draws the characters she wants to cosplay from diferent angles including the minutest details & designs on the costumes, meticulously chooses the right fabric/materials to be used, and closely coordinates with a professional seamstress. She also makes her own props, does the painting job & finishing touches on them. While preparing the wigs, she trims, styles & airbrushes them to attain the right shade/color

Due to her rising popularity, currently she is endorsing Kojie-san, a whitening skin care product; a trendy Japanese sushi bar called Robot, a huge video game company based in Japan, "Tinier Me" by CyberAgent; a clothing line, Fresh Gear Jeans; Japanese Snack, Pocky. She is currently also one of the ambassadors/ TV VJ host for Animax Asia, a TV Channel based in Singapore and airs all over Asia - Philippines, Malaysia, Korea, India, Hong Kong, Indonesia, etc.

Past endorsements include many video game companies such as Level-Up Games, E-Games, Kelphil's Shade, SEGA's Love and Berry, and many more. As the official model/endorser of IPVG-EGames Zx Online game, Alodia, an avid gamer, was given the opportunity to hold her first Fans Day during the Domination 3 Event held on April 2009. Her stint with the company paved the way for her to be on the cover of the EGames 2009 Calendar. A Toy/Figurine distributor based in the Philippines, Maxicollector, has followed suit in hiring Alodia as a Model/Endorser for the said store. She also has been featured in several magazines such as Candy Mag, Meg Magazine and making it into the cover of two isues of GAME! Magazine; and newspapers like Phil. Daily Inquirer, Manila Bulletin & Manila Times. She was also invited to appear as guest on TV shows like MogTV, QTV 11 & Front Act. Other than local media, Alodia has also been featured many times in newspapers and magazine in different countries such as Japan, Singapore and the US.

The Philippines edition of FHM ranked her number 87 in its 2009 poll for 100 Sexiest Women in the World. And this year 2010, her rank went up to number 73. She has been named by UNO Magazine as one of the Most Influential Women in the Philippines.

A very passionate toy & figurine collector, Alodia together with top Otaku blogger, Danny Choo (son of Jimmy Choo shoe designer), were featured in a new book of well-decorated rooms of otakus (anime-fans) around the world called "OTACOOL: Worldwide Otaku Rooms". She had an autograph signing with Mr. Choo during the book's international launch on November 22, 2009 in Singapore during the Anime Festival Asia. Alodia has also made it to the front cover of the new cosplay photobook, OTACOOL2: Worldwide Cosplayers published in April 2010.

As finalist/representative of the Philippines for the Anime Festival Asia Regional Cosplay Championship 2009, Alodia w/ sister Ashley cosplayed as Amaha Masane & Shiori Tsuzuki from the Witchblade anime in November 2009 in Suntec, Singapore. Again they won the hearts of the Singaporeans with their elaborate sexy costumes & exciting acrobatic fight scene. The competition judge Kaname, a popular Japanese cosplayer, gave them perfect scores across the board.

The most recent performance Alodia has been part of is an opening dance number for the 1st Nationwide Cyberzone Cosplay Competition Grand Finals, held at SM Megamall, The Events Place last August 28, 2010.
Other performances include a song and dance number performed by the sisters Alodia and Ashley at the Singapore Mascot Parade in Scape Mall, Orchard Road, summer 2010. They have also done another sister tandem performance during "Alodia Fan's Day" at the E-Games Domination 3 where they sang as a duo while playing instruments - Alodia on the keyboards and Ashley on the guitars.

Currently dubbed as the "Cosplay Queen/Princess" of the Philippines, she has been recognized as the one responsible in putting Cosplay on a higher level. Mainstream media has started to notice & considered it as an art form. SM(Shoemart), the number one chain of shopping malls in the Philippines, recently has just concluded their SM Cyberzone Cosplay Tour tapping the crowd-drawing Alodia as one of the judges for the competition. To this date, she has a following of more than 130,000+ fans in Facebook and over 4 million page views in her Deviantart account in the internet.

Alodia and Ashley has also been invited by the Mascot Parade supported by the Singapore Government to perform and judge the cosplay competition. This lead to numerous projects offered by different event organizers from different countries - such as Chile, Australia, Itlay, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, etc - to bring in Alodia and her sister Ashley to judge and perform during cosplay conventions in the organizers' respective countries.

I'm really a fan! An avid fan!
